Company IG Watteeuw ČR, based in Brno, has obtained again the Czech Railways certificate for its supply of gearboxes for railway’s rolling stock, this time including technology of wheel pressing to axle. Thanks to the Škoda CDR 500 hydraulic press, which has a working force of 5000 kN, a feed of 750 mm and a working fluid pressure of up to 31.5 Mpa, this technology allows to press railway wheelsets with guide housing axles up to a diameter 2400 mm of wheelsets.
It allows the assembly and disassembly of gears for locomotives and railway wagons with simultaneous registration of the pressing force in reliance to the length of the pressing. This method allows repairs of railway vehicles of all types to be carried out more efficiently.
