Prostějov-based DT – Výhybkárna a strojírna has commissioned two new Combilift MG handling systems — the first of their kind in the Czech Republic. This state-of-the-art technology enables the safe and precise handling of loads weighing up to 50 tonnes.

The Combilift MG manipulators are four-wheeled, diesel-powered machines equipped with remote control for all functions via a portable control panel. Thanks to their multidirectional movement, they can easily manoeuvre even in confined spaces.
This new technology from Ireland will streamline logistics and allow fully assembled turnouts to be dispatched directly from production to the construction site — eliminating the need for disassembly and reassembly in the field. Initial practical trials confirmed the system’s high precision and excellent manoeuvrability. The investment also included the production of special beams for handling switch rails up to 68 metres in length and stock rails up to 73 metres. The new equipment enhances the company’s ability to meet demanding customer requirements, including those of the Czech Railway Infrastructure Administration (Správa železnic).
