Wikov is expanding its portfolio once again – this time supplying innovative bevel gearboxes for low-floor trams manufactured by a Turkish company.
These gearboxes are designed for bogie with longitudinal, fully suspended drive, where one traction motor drives a pair of gearboxes that transmit torque to independently rotating wheels via output couplings. This is therefore a drive without a direct mechanical connection, i.e. without a conventional axle.
The project completed Wikov’s range of gearboxes for all types of bogies for partially and fully low-floor trams on the market. The tram gearboxes were on display this year at trade fairs in Ostrava, Istanbul, and Gdańsk, in which Wikov participated. With a successful year behind it, Wikov looks forward to new challenges with optimism.
