BORCAD is developing a completely new regional seat, and the first prototypes will make their world debut at the INNOTRANS 2026 trade fair in Berlin, Germany, this September. The goal is to expand the company’s product portfolio in the regional and commuter transport segment, which is currently dominated by the VISIO model.

The new seat will offer greater design flexibility for headrests, minimize the use of plastics, and allow seats to be connected into a single “bench,” thereby ensuring greater privacy for passengers. The minimum spacing for vis-a-vis seats (according to UIC 567) will be just 1,700 mm, without compromising seating comfort. For the first time, we collaborated on the seat design with the WERKEMOTION studio, and we cannot wait to show you the results.
In addition to the traditional regional transport segment, the new VERSIO seat has the potential for “S-Bahn” projects and, in the future, even metro systems, thanks to its specifications.
