RETEX has developed a new insulation material for the railway industry: ENVIZOL PES K. The material is designed for trams, regional trains and, in combination with other materials, also for long-distance rail applications.
ENVIZOL PES K is made from recycled polymer fibres combined with special bicomponent (BICO) fibres that provide strength and structural stability without the need for conventional chemical binders. The result is a lightweight insulation material with excellent acoustic performance, helping reduce noise and vibrations while improving passenger comfort.

The material also meets the requirements of the European EN 45545 HL3 standard — the highest fire safety level for railway vehicles. One of its key advantages is that it achieves these parameters without the use of an aluminium surface layer, contributing to lower weight and easier processing. ENVIZOL PES K is available as a standard insulation material, in a self-adhesive version, or with a drainage finish depending on the intended application.
