InnoTrans 2026, the world’s largest trade fair for rail transport technology, opened today at the Berlin Exhibition Grounds. The Czech railway industry is also strongly represented. Tens of Czech companies have brought new rail vehicles, components, digital technologies and solutions for modernising railway infrastructure to Berlin. Among the most prominent Czech exhibits are a new generation of battery train, a tram for Prague, a dual-power locomotive, new freight wagons, high-speed rail technologies and smart turnout diagnostics.
Czech companies are exhibiting both independently and as part of the National Exhibition of the Czech Railway Industry, jointly organised by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and ACRI – the Czech Railway Industry Association. The joint exhibition in Hall 9, Stand 310, brings together 16 ACRI member companies, while other major Czech manufacturers have their own stands and, in the case of rolling stock manufacturers, exhibits in the outdoor display area and on the exhibition tracks.
“InnoTrans is, above all, a global business forum for the Czech railway industry. Czech companies are coming to Berlin today as confident technology partners with their own R&D, their own products and references from the world’s most demanding markets. From complete vehicles and high-speed rail technologies to drives, brakes, rails and components, as well as digitalisation, cybersecurity and advanced materials. We want to demonstrate that the Czech railway industry can offer solutions for virtually the entire life cycle of a modern railway. And, above all, we want to bring new business opportunities and contracts back from Berlin,” says Marie Vopálenská, Director General of ACRI – the Czech Railway Industry Association.

Battery RegioPanter makes its InnoTrans debut
One of the most prominent Czech vehicles is the new generation of Škoda Group‘s BEMU RegioPanter battery-electric train, making its first-ever appearance at InnoTrans. In battery mode, it offers a range of at least 80 kilometres and enables electric regional trains to operate on routes that are not electrified throughout. Škoda Group is also presenting its partial trolleybuses, digital and signalling technologies, and other components for modern public transport at the fair.
Latest Prague tram: Škoda ForCity Plus 52T
Another major Škoda Group exhibit is the Škoda ForCity Plus 52T tram, the latest generation of trams designed for Prague. The vehicle received the international Red Dot Award 2026 for design this year. Together with the battery train, it is one of the main showcases of Czech expertise in the development and manufacture of complete rail vehicles.

CZ LOKO showcases dual-power DualShunter 2000
CZ LOKO is presenting the DualShunter 2000 locomotive, developed in variants combining electric traction with either a diesel engine or battery power. The prototype phase of the project has been completed, series production of the DC version is beginning, and development is continuing on the AC version, aimed primarily at Western and Central Europe. The vehicle responds to growing demand among European operators for electric operation combined with the ability to run beyond electrified sections.
NYMWAG brings three new freight wagons
Czech manufacturer NYMWAG CS is exhibiting three types of freight wagon in Berlin. A major new product is the 41 m³ Zacns tank wagon with a stainless-steel tank for transporting chemicals, accompanied by the 48 m³ Faccn(pp)s hopper wagon and the universal Rens flat wagon. The display demonstrates the further expansion of the portfolio of one of Europe’s largest manufacturers of freight rail vehicles.
BORCAD presents a seat that reclines to a fully horizontal position
Czech railway seat manufacturer BORCAD has brought two premieres to InnoTrans. The FLATwhite concept features a private compartment with a seat that can be reclined to a completely horizontal position, while the new VERSIO regional seat offers greater layout flexibility and reduces the use of plastics. BORCAD seats can also be seen at the fair in vehicles from other global manufacturers, including Stadler, Siemens and Končar.

BONATRANS showcases a ‘green’ railway wheelset
BONATRANS GROUP, Europe’s largest manufacturer of railway wheelsets and their components, has focused its presentation on the GREEN WHEELSET concept. It includes solutions with extended service life or the potential for reuse, designed to reduce rolling stock operating and maintenance costs as well as its carbon footprint. The company thus combines traditional Czech manufacturing of railway components with the requirement to reduce costs throughout the vehicle life cycle.
Czech gearbox for trains operating at up to 300 km/h
Wikov Group is presenting in Berlin a gearbox for high-speed trainsets with an operating speed of up to 300 km/h, developed for applications on Asian railways. It is also exhibiting a drive for hybrid battery LRV vehicles and the results of research into a hybrid composite gear. The display demonstrates the Czech industry’s ability to supply components for the technologically most demanding high-speed rail segment.
DTVS presents its own smart turnout sensor technology
DT – Výhybkárna a strojírna is presenting its own new smart turnout diagnostics technology for the first time. The sensor, developed in Prostějov, records the dynamic response of passing vehicles and combines measurements of deformation, acceleration and temperature with its own evaluation unit. It can detect a vehicle and determine its speed and direction of travel, while further development is focused on measuring accumulated load, detecting defective wheels and continuously evaluating the actual condition of turnouts for predictive maintenance. DTVS is also presenting solutions for high-speed lines in Berlin.
The technology has already been practically tested on tram turnouts in Brno and at Pardubice railway station, with further testing being prepared on the Správa železnic network and in Slovakia.
ZKL unveils VOLPROTEQ technology in a world premiere
Czech bearing manufacturer ZKL is giving its VOLPROTEQ solution its world premiere at InnoTrans. It is a protective barrier for bearings exposed to electrical loads in rail vehicle drive systems, preventing electric current from passing through the bearing and protecting its raceways from electrical erosion. The solution is designed to increase the reliability and service life of bearings in traction motors and other drive systems.
DAKO-CZ: from ‘brake by wire’ to ‘brake by air’
Brake system manufacturer DAKO-CZ is presenting innovations in electromechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic brakes. Its portfolio ranges from ‘brake by wire’ to ‘brake by air’ systems and includes both individual components and comprehensive braking solutions for different types of rail vehicles. For the first time, the company is also presenting products in the field of safety solutions.
AŽD presents ETCS, autonomous operation and a drone for infrastructure monitoring
At InnoTrans, AŽD is focusing on railway signalling, control, automation and digitalisation. A major part of its presentation is dedicated to ETCS solutions, modern digital signalling and control systems, and technologies for infrastructure management and diagnostics, including an autonomous drone for infrastructure monitoring. The company is also presenting its activities in autonomous railway operation, which it is testing with passengers on an experimental line using the autonomous EDITA vehicle, as well as technologies using artificial intelligence, advanced sensors and digital infrastructure.

Czech railway industry exports approximately half of its production
For Czech companies, InnoTrans is not only a showcase for technology, but above all one of the most important venues for meeting customers and winning new international contracts. Approximately half of the Czech railway industry’s production is exported, with exports reaching approximately CZK 66 billion in 2025. Czech companies supply complete vehicles, components and technologies to markets both within and outside Europe.
Visitors to InnoTrans 2026 can find the National Exhibition of the Czech Railway Industry in Hall 9, Stand 310.
