BONATRANS, the biggest European producer of railway wheelsets, ranks among the premium companies in its field of activity. Its products are exported worldwide to 80+ countries on 5 continents. BONATRANS designs, manufactures and supplies wide range of wheelsets and the parts thereof – wheels, axles, centres and tyres – for all type of rolling stock, from high-speed trains and trams to locomotives and freight cars.
It was established in 1965 as Wheelset Division in then ZDB (Iron and Wire Works Bohumin). At the beginning of 2014 BONATRANS made the fundamental step to its further growth having acquired its German competitor GHH-Radsatz, the leader in supplies of products and complex solutions for low-floor trams. At the end of 2015 it began supplying wheelsets from its greenfield manufacturing plant in India. Over 1500 people from the Moravian-Silesian region working in BONATRANS achieved revenues of 300 million EUR in 2022.
