RETEX – Insulations and fireblockers for Rail Vehicles
RETEX plays an important role in the rail industry, supplying thermal and acoustic insulation solutions suitable for a wide range of rolling stock—from trams to high-speed trains. Our solutions comply with the stringent requirements of the EN 45545 standard, including demanding fire safety criteria, and deliver reliable performance even under challenging operating conditions.
Our portfolio also includes advanced products such as fire blockers, mattresses for sleeper cars, and other high-performance solutions. We develop customized textile and insulation systems that enable customers to meet specific technical and structural requirements with confidence.
Enhancing Comfort and Safety
Building on this legacy, we are now introducing a new thermal-acoustic material: Envizol Train LW. With a low density of just 20 kg/m³ and thickness options ranging from 10 to 80 mm, the material combines lightweight construction with outstanding performance. Its key advantage is achieving HL2 fire classification under EN 45545 without the need for aluminum foil—allowing it to maintain excellent sound absorption while keeping weight to a minimum.
The result is a material that helps reduce the energy demands of rail vehicles while enhancing passenger comfort. The product will also be available in versions with a self-adhesive layer and drainage, and is designed primarily for trams and regional trainsets. Market launch is planned for the first half of 2026.
