Despite of extensive measures the VÚKV testing laboratory fulfils its obligations and realizes the tests at foreign customers. Some rail vehicle tests for important customers in Switzerland, Poland and Finland were carried out in last months this year. Certainly, all the tests were carried out with regards to prevalent epidemiologic situation under high safety measures to protect the health of involved staff and to reach the top results in the shortest possible time.
Not only type tests but also research tests of running quality, quasistatic safety against derailment and brake features were carried out. The advantages of the VÚKV mobile measuring technology proved successful.
The organization of quasistatic safety against derailment tests of the eight-axle ŠKODA 34T ForCity Smart Artic tram for the new Tampere tramway network was the most demanding one. Transit via Baltic countries is actually nearly impossible for Czech citizens due to obligatory quarantine. It was necessary to prepare all test technologies to the last detail and to convey them by a delivery service.
Only the measuring team travelled to Finland by plane and had to go through the entrance COVID test and to entry the quarantine. In three days, after the second negative test, the transfer to Tampere tramway depot was enabled where the test was carried out. Despite the mentioned restrictions the test was realized in the terms required by the customer.
