In September 2020, ZKL Group completed the certification of the innovated axle roller bearing set WJ/WJP 130×240 for freight wagons. These modern bearings for rail transport are of a high safety and reliability, improved energy efficiency and lower maintenance costs for bogie Y25 application.
As part of the implementation of the requirements of Technical Pillar of the 4th Railway Package, bearings have already been certified in accordance with Directive 2016/797 of the European Parliament and of the Council (EU) as required by the TSI WAG of Commission Regulation (EU) No. 321/2013 as amended and in accordance with harmonised standard EN 12080:2017.
The technical solution of these bearings uses its own patented approach developed in the Technological Centre of the ZKL Group and considers future increases in the reliability and speed of cargo transports.
Bearings operate reliably under normal load for freight wagons with a design speed 30 % higher than existing limits and increase the reliability of arrangement of wagon bogie bearings when operating at normal speeds.
