TRAKO International Railway Fair will take place from 19 to 22 September 2023 at AMBEREXPO in Gdansk. TRAKO is the largest and most prestigious gathering of the railway industry in Poland and the second largest in Europe. It also provides an excellent opportunity to exchange experiences and meet within the industry. More than 500 exhibitors from at least several dozen countries are expected to attend the 15th anniversary edition of the fair, including already confirmed national pavilions from Austria, the Czech Republic, Finland, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Ukraine and the UK. More than 25,000 trade visitors from over 40 countries are also expected to attend.
The representation of Czech companies is organized under the official participation of the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MIT) and the Association of Railway Industry Companies (ACRI). 11 Czech companies will present themselves at the joint stand and another 25 at individual stands. “TRAKO is of fundamental importance for the Czech railway industry. ACRI members attended this traditional trade fair in large numbers this year. The fair offers them a great opportunity to present themselves on the Polish market,” says Marie Vopálenská, ACRI’s CEO, adding: “It is a unique opportunity to develop business contacts, which brings major business successes, namely, the supply of rolling stock, signalling and control systems, wheelsets or the testing of Polish products by Czech research institutes and laboratories.
Czech footprint in Poland
Poland is a traditional partner for Czech companies in the railway industry, and there are a number of specific common projects. “Very successful are the deliveries of trams and metro cars by ŠKODA GROUP. Significant are the orders in the field of signalling systems by AŽD PRAHA for metro and railway and it is worth mentioning other partial deliveries of components and services by ACRI member companies”.
