T-CZ, a Pardubice-based company, is significantly improving passenger safety and the safety of the entire train service by using artificial intelligence (AI) elements as part of its train autonomy system. One of the subsidiaries of the technology holding L.P.P. It is its own know-how that significantly decreases the risk of train accidents. What can we imagine by the term “autonomy of train transport”?
Using proprietary AI-based technology, the system segments the track, its surroundings and assesses possible risks during the ride. Using disciplines such as neural networks and machine learning, the system itself recognises objects such as people and vehicles near the track and especially at level crossings and analyses the risk of disruption. This helps to minimise potential collisions. The system itself is thus particularly suitable for urban and suburban public rail transport.
In addition to analysing the risk of collision, the system is also able to count passengers in a given transport area and monitor the situation in mass passenger transport. This provides the operator with information on the current traffic load and, in the long term, data for possible optimisation of the traffic.
