DT – Výhybkárna a strojírna from Prostějov, Czech Republic, a member of ACRI – Czech Railway Industry Association, has unveiled the first turnout for high-speed railways manufactured in the Czech Republic. The turnout allows passage speeds of up to 350 km/h in the straight direction and 230 km/h in the diverging direction.
This achievement marks another significant milestone for the Czech railway industry in the development and production of components for the global market of high-speed railways. The turnout is a result of the company’s in-house development and demonstrates the maturity of the Czech railway sector.
“The Czech railway industry is continuously increasing its share in the supply of components for high-speed railways. These are sophisticated products with high added value, which are now in demand by customers in the most challenging markets worldwide. The introduction of the switch for high-speed lines by DT – Výhybkárna a strojírna this week also proves the high standard of our products,” says Marie Vopálenská, Director General of ACRI Czech Railway Industry Association.
“Our switches, switch structures, and components are already being used in more than 30 countries around the world. The switch presented this week is a concrete result of our long-term efforts to develop and offer a product with a competitive technical level and added value created in the Czech Republic,” says Marek Smolka, General Manager of DT – Výhybkárna a strojírna.
In addition to its manufacturing activities, the Czech railway industry is also significantly involved in the testing and certification of technologies and vehicles for high-speed rail transport. Through ACRI, it is actively engaged in the development and implementation of international and European standards for high-speed rail transport.
“The Czech industry collaborates with the world’s leading manufacturers of high-speed trains, supplies to the most demanding markets, and is itself a member of the group of manufacturers and suppliers of rolling stock for speeds of 200 km/h and above,” says Marie Vopálenská, Director General of ACRI. “We are also ready to leverage our expertise and years of know-how in the planned development of high-speed lines in the Czech Republic and other Central European countries.”
