More than thirty companies from the Czech railway industry will showcase products for rail transport, sustainable mobility development, and rail infrastructure at InnoTrans 2024, the largest international trade fair for rail technology, taking place in Berlin from 24 to 27 September.
“This year at InnoTrans, the Czech rail industry is presenting a broad portfolio of cutting-edge, innovative products. These range from modern digital technologies and components for sustainable rail transport to vehicles and technologies for high-speed rail. The Czech Republic will undoubtedly stand out as one of the leaders in the development of European rail transport at InnoTrans,” said Marie Vopálenská, CEO of ACRI Czech Railway Industry Association.
ACRI member companies will present a wide array of unique products, including high-speed vehicles capable of reaching speeds of 230 km/h, dual-drive rail vehicles, components for major global players in rail vehicle and technology manufacturing, innovative interior and information systems, and components for high-speed rail infrastructure. In addition, they will demonstrate advancements in autonomous train technology, digital traffic management, and cybersecurity in transport. Many Czech companies are positioning themselves as global or European leaders in their respective fields at InnoTrans.
Participation of the Czech Minister of Transport at the Opening Ceremony – Invitation for Attending Journalists
On Tuesday, 24 September, at 12:00, the official opening day of InnoTrans, Czech Minister of Transport Martin Kupka will visit the ACRI stand. His presence at the official opening of the ACRI stand (Hall 9, Stand 310+315) highlights the crucial importance of the Czech railway industry for the country’s export position in global markets.
Journalists attending InnoTrans are also invited to the official opening of the ACRI stand on Tuesday, 24 September, at 12:00 (Hall 9, Stand 310+315).
Joint ACRI Exhibition and Separate Presentation Areas for Members
This year, ACRI members have opted for various forms of presentation. Sixteen member companies will be represented at the joint ACRI Czech Railway Industry Association stand in Hall 9, Stand 310+315. ACRI Members to Showcase a Wide Portfolio of Cutting-Edge Products and Technologies in Berlin
AV R&D, a leading Czech company in the development of rolling stock and rail infrastructure products, provides services in the areas of development, mechanical design, simulation, testing, and measurement. AV R&D offers specialized test equipment and methodologies tailored to the specific needs of customers in the railway industry. At InnoTrans in Berlin, it will showcase test equipment for bonded joints in accordance with EN 17460 (DIN 6701) – AV036/043.
In addition to its stand, AŽD will offer visitors the opportunity to participate in several expert forums. These forums will focus on modern digital safety and traffic management systems, self-driving train technology and its commercial operation, as well as the implementation of the European ETCS signaling system. AŽD will also present its recently opened competence center in Dětenice, which focuses on autonomous train technology.
AMiT, a leading Czech manufacturer of control systems and electronics for transport, will present a wide range of components and complete system solutions at InnoTrans. Among these will be passenger information systems (PIS), display systems (PVS), surveillance systems (CCTV), audio systems including emergency communication (PA/EI), reservation systems (SRS), on-board Wi-Fi (PWLAN), overhead control (TCMS), TCN communication, and other communication infrastructure. AMiT provides comprehensive services from solution design and development to testing, manufacturing, and delivery, including obsolescence management.
BONATRANS, the largest wheelset manufacturer in Europe, will showcase several innovations in wheelsets for rolling stock. The EMU drive wheelset for Lodz, Poland, features two innovations focusing on sustainability: the BONASILENCE®R+ silencer and the enhanced steel grade BONASTAR 4BD, both of which significantly extend wheel life and reduce total lifecycle costs (TLCC). The BONA830EM, the fourth generation of the stress-optimized truck wheel, offers a 30% increase in lifetime.
BORCAD will present first-class seats for the new generation of ÖBB Railjet trains (Day and Night Train), along with a simple but effective solution for multi-purpose rail vehicle interiors (remotely lockable folding seats). Additionally, BORCAD will showcase its FLEXIO FAMILY range of products, which can be tailored to customer needs. BORCAD seats will also be displayed in the outdoor exhibition on Siemens Mireo Smart, Siemens Vectron, Končar BEMU, Stadler RS ZERO, and Stadler FART trains, with the Stadler RS ZERO making its world premiere, featuring VISIO and FLEXIO REGIONAL seats, as well as other innovative modules.
CZ LOKO, a leading manufacturer of railway traction vehicles, particularly locomotives for freight and shunting, will have its stand in Hall 2.2, Area 150, together with CZ LOKO Zeppelin. The DualShunter locomotive, equipped with dual electric and diesel propulsion, will be displayed on track T4/15. On Wednesday, 25 September, it will be officially handed over to its customer, Mercitalia Shunting & Terminal.
DAKO-CZ, a leading manufacturer of braking systems and components for rolling stock, will present more than twenty exhibits, including eleven world premieres. Key innovations will focus on electromechanics, electronics, digitalization, hydraulics, and pneumatics. DAKO-CZ will also showcase products for trams, commuter units, metro, high-speed trains, locomotives, and freight transport, some of which will be featured in partner exhibits. New mobile brake test equipment will be demonstrated on a partner’s car at the outdoor T4/40 area on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 11 am, 1 pm, and 3 pm.
DT – Výhybkárna a strojírna will highlight its role as a major manufacturer of switches for tram and railway transport, including high-speed lines. Its products are used in over 30 countries and meet the stringent requirements for modern railway infrastructure. At its stand, DT will showcase a new switch designed for high-speed lines, allowing travel speeds of up to 350 km/h in straight directions and 230 km/h in diverging directions. The switch is equipped with a hydraulic switching system developed in-house. The company will also present footage of recent projects completed for the German market.
HŽP a.s., one of Europe’s largest spring manufacturers, will present its key products, including springs for freight wagons, primary and secondary springs for high-speed trains, and locomotives. HŽP is a key supplier of coil springs for passenger transport, with HYUNDAI ROTEM Korea being a major customer. The company supplies products to over 30 countries and continues to expand its market share in rail transport.
MORAVIA STEEL and TŘINECKÉ ŽELEZNÁRNY will showcase products related to rail production, including broad-gauge rails used in high-speed line construction. MORAVIA STEEL DEUTSCHLAND (its German sales representation) and subsidiaries Šroubárna Kyjov and Slévárny Třinec will also be present.
MSV Elektronika, a leading Czech electronics manufacturer for railway vehicles, will present its external LED lighting products and debut a new display for drivers, ZJS12.
OLTIS Group will introduce innovations like the “K-module,” which links railway carrier internal systems with infrastructure managers using the TAF/TAP TSI standard. In collaboration with TATRAVAGÓNKA and LEVEL, the group is developing an intelligent car project that enables automatic operational data collection. Another project focuses on using artificial intelligence to support dispatchers’ decision-making and optimize railway operations.
Pars Komponenty, celebrating 25 years of providing components for rolling stock, will highlight its future focus on simplifying the development and production of door systems, window frames, and intermediate walls. Pars Komponenty competes globally while complying with European and international standards.
PASSENGERA, a leading infotainment system provider, will present state-of-the-art infotainment, connectivity, and passenger information system (PIS) solutions, including a hardware-independent PIS ideal for transport operators seeking system upgrades with minimal hardware replacement. It will also introduce Passengera AP+, a Wi-Fi 6E-enabled access point with an integrated antenna for high-performance connectivity, along with a comprehensive management and monitoring suite (MMS). Additionally, Passengera will unveil an “edge computing” containerization platform that provides secure infrastructure for deploying and hosting various on-board applications.
RETEX will be present at InnoTrans as a supplier of acoustic and thermal insulation materials made from recycled fibers that meet the most stringent safety standards for the rail industry. It will also present fireblockers, special fabrics designed to prevent the spread of fire in seat structures, thereby increasing passenger safety and enhancing fire protection.
RETIA, a company specializing in security and recording systems, will showcase its ReDat Recording system, an innovative solution for recording, storing, and analyzing customer interactions. Designed for continuous operation, this reliable system offers a modern, user-friendly environment for managing and recording data, including dispatch data. Thanks to its technological maturity, close collaboration with carriers, and personalized approach, RETIA is able to offer solutions tailored to the specific requirements of its customers.
ROSTEX VYŠKOV will showcase its 15-year history of producing components for rolling stock, including air and cable ducts and electrical enclosures. As a major supplier to ALSTOM, ROSTEX delivers products to markets in Germany, France, Belgium, Poland, and other countries. With almost a century of tradition as a Czech manufacturer, ROSTEX views its participation at InnoTrans as a key opportunity to meet and exchange experiences with business partners.
SVV Praha will present its expertise in welding and bonding at InnoTrans, offering consultations on personnel training, process certification, testing, and production procedures.
SVÚM, a research company with a 75-year history, will present its expert services for vehicle manufacturers and the energy industry, focusing on comprehensive material diagnostics, accredited testing of mechanical properties and fatigue life of structural elements, strength and thermodynamic calculations, noise and vibration measurements, fatigue testing, and anti-corrosion spraying. Its presentation will include testing of railway wheels, axles, components, bumpers, springs, draw gears, and brakes, with evaluations and certifications provided according to JISM and EN ISO/IEC standards.
ŠKODA GROUP, a leader in rail vehicle production in the Czech Republic, will showcase its award-winning tram and groundbreaking “Sleep in Motion” project at InnoTrans 2024 in Berlin. On display will be the Škoda ForCity Smart tram for Bonn, Germany, which won the Red Dot Design Award, and the new “Sleep in Motion” night train concept. Visitors will also see innovations in digital solutions for public transport, including the anti-collision system, the ATO system, and the Smart Depot ecosystem, all of which enhance passenger safety and comfort. Together with SIEMENS Mobility, ŠKODA GROUP will present the ComfortJet non-traction train unit, designed for long-distance transport at speeds of up to 230 km/h. This project marks ŠKODA GROUP’s entry into the exclusive club of high-speed train manufacturers.
T-CZ a.s. will present itself at InnoTrans 2024 by showcasing its support for AI technologies in safety and autonomy, as well as new products in the field of radio communications. The company will also emphasize its interest in cooperating on future-forward areas, not only within the railway sector. Key areas of focus include:
- Counting and classification of objects and people
- Control systems and their integration
- Predictive diagnostics and service
- Antenna field analysis for GSM-R and ETCS communications
At InnoTrans, TTC Controls will showcase its innovative electronic systems for rolling stock, manufactured under the UniControls brand. The company offers a modular range of universal ELM meters for all traction and vehicle types, which now feature recertification for the European market. It will also introduce the certified WTB gateway for inter-car communication in compliance with the UIC556 standard. Additionally, the new DIS2 series TFT display platform, with diagonal sizes ranging from 10″ to 21.5″ in single and double versions, will be introduced, offering an attractive option for vehicle manufacturers and information system integrators.
TTC MARCONI will present its solution for voice dispatch communication, integrating various types of fixed and mobile communication networks and resources. This solution includes the new broadband critical mobile MCX applications and the new FRMCS rail standard, offering an advanced and flexible platform for efficient rail sector communications.
VUKV (Rolling Stock Research Institute – Výzkumný ústav kolejových vozidel) will present its development work on new passenger rolling stock for Škoda Transportation and Firema, as well as its ongoing activities in rolling stock research and testing. In the outdoor area, VUKV will display its unique measuring wheelset, designed for measuring the forces between the wheel and the rail, under a Tatravagonka Sgmmns series freight wagon. As part of the DACFit project, VUKV and other partners will participate in the “High-Level Event on DAC” in Berlin Spandau during InnoTrans.
At InnoTrans 2024, the Research and Testing Institute VZU (Výzkumný a zkušební ústav) will showcase its professional services, backed by a seventeen-year tradition in testing. The institute offers comprehensive material diagnostics, accredited testing of mechanical properties and fatigue life of vehicle structures, strength and thermodynamic calculations, noise and vibration measurements, as well as the development and application of hot and cold spray technologies and fatigue, vibration, and seismic testing. It specializes in providing services for vehicle manufacturers and the energy industry, promoting safety and efficiency in these sectors.
The ZKL Group will display its extensive range of bearings for railway applications at InnoTrans in Berlin. Visitors will see WJ/WJP axle roller bearings for freight wagons with 120 mm and 130 mm journal diameters, ensuring high safety, reliability, improved energy efficiency, and lower maintenance costs. Rail roller and tapered roller units, double row spherical roller bearings for locomotive axles, and newly approved axle bearings for Ukrainian Railways, meeting both European and Ukrainian standards, will also be on display, supporting integration into the European transport system.
