The cooperation between companies Borcad and RETEX has resulted in a unique product designed for rolling stock. These are seats with special MEPAR and UNTEX VSS textiles. The seats will appear, for example, in carriages manufactured for Czech Railways by the Škoda Transportation – Siemens consortium, in Estonian Railways carriages manufactured by Škoda Transporatation and Azerbaijani trains produced by Stadler.
What makes the RETEX materials on Borcad seats so special? MEPAR non-woven is extremely durable thanks to recycled aramid fibers. It meets the requirements of the EN45545 R1 and R21 – Hl3 standards. Therefore it is suitable as a fire blocker. It has also additional protection against punctures or cuts. The material is therefore very suitable for the textile layers of railway vehicle seats, which will have a significantly longer service. The product called UNTEX VSS mainly protects the upper foam part of the seats. It also creates a softening effect – this will be especially appreciated by manufacturers of leather upholstery.
The structure of the material easily adapts to the shapes of the seat structure – the product is easy to process. The fabric is made of biodegradable viscose fibers. These are non-flammable and meet strict fire safety requirements, including EN45545 R21 – Hl3 standard.
