ČD – Telematika has already handed back 181 vehicles with OBU ETCS installed in switch-on mode. Some of the retrofitted vehicles are in service not only in the Czech Republic, but also in Slovakia and Poland.
The successful completion of the installation of the ETCS on-board system in 78 vehicles of the 163/363 model series for the customer ČD Cargo was followed by another success, i.e. the completion of the installation in all 103 vehicles of the 162 WTB, 362 WTB and 362 model series for the customer České dráhy.
Probably the most followed project by the public is the installation of the ČD Pendolino 680 series. The 680.004 prototype unit has already been successfully tested and handed back to the customer for trial operation. The project has used a unique so-called “distributed solution” of ETCS, where the core of the technological unit is not mounted in the form of a standardized box with ETCS components (the so-called “cubicle”), but the individual components are installed in the technological compartments of the front cars.
Furthermore, ČD-T is working on the installation into the cars of the 961 ČD, 471 ČD (CityElefant) and vehicles ČDC 363.5 series.
