In Berlin today, the international trade fair for railway technology, InnoTrans 2024, began. The official Czech participation, organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic in cooperation with the Association of Czech Railway Industry ACRI, was opened today by the Minister of Transport, Martin Kupka.
The Czech railway industry contributes approximately 2% to the GDP of the Czech Republic, and this year it expects total revenues of around CZK 140 billion – a 10% year-on-year increase. Export activities account for 60% of this total.
At 12:00, the Czech exposition at the InnoTrans fair was officially opened by the Czech Minister of Transport, Martin Kupka. “As a member of the Czech government, I would like to say that I am pleased to see so many successful Czech companies exhibiting here, representing Czech technology, craftsmanship, and ingenuity. The 60% share of exports is a clear testament that the Czech railway industry is strong, and the products of the Czech railway industry are among the best in the world.
At the same time, I would like to emphasize the topic of high-speed railways, as many Czech companies are showcasing products and technologies specifically for high-speed rail. We are serious about their development, and I am here to unequivocally state that the Czech Republic will be visible in the field of high-speed railways. To all Czech exhibitors, I want to wish you courage and to inspire others with how innovation and top-tier products of the modern railway industry can look,” said Martin Kupka, Minister of Transport of the Czech Republic, at the official opening of the Czech exposition at the InnoTrans fair.
Marie Vopálenská, General Director of the Association of Czech Railway Industry ACRI, added during the official opening of the ACRI exposition: “The Czech railway industry is today one of the leading drivers of technological development in modern rail transport and sustainable mobility in Europe. This year at InnoTrans, it is showcasing a wide portfolio of top innovative products, from modern digital technologies to products and components for sustainable rail transport, as well as vehicles and technologies for high-speed railways.”
More than thirty companies from the Czech railway industry are participating in this year’s InnoTrans fair. In their exhibits, they emphasize sustainability, innovation, digitalization, and products intended for high-speed railways. From top-tier high-speed vehicles capable of speeds up to 230 km/h, dual-powered rail vehicles, award-winning state-of-the-art trams, components for major global players – manufacturers of railway vehicles and equipment, innovative interior and information solutions, components for high-speed rail infrastructure, to the implementation of autonomous train technologies, digital traffic management, and cybersecurity in transport. Many Czech companies are presenting themselves at InnoTrans as global or European leaders in their fields.
