Výzkumný Ústav Železniční, a.s. (VUZ) by Decision 7/2020 of
the Czech Office for Standards, Metrology and Testing, of 9th July, 2020,
obtained the authorization under the Directive (EU) 2016/797 of the European
Parliament and of the Council on the Interoperability of the rail system within
the European Union.
The Czech Republic thus confirmed its position on the EU railway market and
took a significant step towards the implementation of the technical pillar of
the 4th railway package, which is aimed at creating and achieving a uniform
safe operating environment in rail transport throughout the EU
(interoperability).
Since 6th August, 2020, VUZ has been a Notified Body (NoBo) under the new
Directive (EU) 2016/797 on the Interoperability of the rail system within the
European Union for all structural areas of subsystems (Infrastructure, Energy,
tracking control-command and signalling, On-board control-command and Rolling
stock) and follows on from its many years of experience in assessing the
interoperability constituents, interfaces and procedures of each subsystem and
the overall compatibility conditions of the Union rail system required to
achieve its interoperability.
