The manufacturer of brake systems and components for rail vehicles from Třemošnice in Eastern Bohemia has been on the market for 205 years now. To help it celebrate this anniversary DAKO-CZ invited some special guests, was visited by the famous Slovenská strela railcar and, during the celebrations, succeeded in raising almost one hundred thousand crowns to fund treatment for Nela, a seriously ill five-year-old girl, whom DAKO-CZ has been supporting for a long time now.
The guests invited to celebrate the DAKO-CZ anniversary spent the evening of 4th November in the pleasant setting of the Jezerka congress hotel in Seč. Besides free entertainment and the chance to enjoy an informal chat, the guests were also able to participate in a creative workshop. It was organised by Monika Ociepková, who specialises in an unconventional artistic technique: spray painting.
During the evening she painted two pictures: one on a free theme, the other with the DAKO-CZ logo. Both pictures for auctioned off for a total of 65 thousand crowns. The proceeds of this action will go to little Nela, who was born with hydrocephalus, a disease also called water in the brain. Another 30 thousand crowns was raised for her from the sale of Angel bracelets, which all the event’s guests received together with Nela’s story.
On the Friday DAKO-CZ prepared a real treat for the celebratory guests. Thanks to its collaboration within the Czechoslovak Group holding, Tatra Trucks brought along its famous gem: the M290.002 Slovenská strela railcar. The event’s participants had the chance to take a ride in this historical railcar from Žleby to Třemošnice and back. Judging by their response, the experience was a wonderful way to round off this successful celebration of an important anniversary.
