Company Passengera, a leader in digital solutions for public transport passengers, is improving the train travel experience with innovative technologies. In cooperation with Czech Railways, it is implementing support for 5G technology in Railjet and selected EC/IC cars, significantly speeding up and stabilising on-board internet connectivity.
The technology is provided by Passengera G8 multiservice gateways, which in addition to connectivity solutions also host other on-board applications such as infotainment. G8 servers efficiently aggregate the available transmission lines to ensure stable Internet access. The same technology from Passengera is already used by carriers such as PKP, MÁV, HŽPP, and others.
This upgrade means a completely new comfort for ČD passengers in the area of digital services on board. For ČD, the upgrade is part of a long-term strategy to increase the attractiveness of rail transport and offer customers a travel experience that meets the expectations of today.
