The Czech railway industry is preparing for the biggest event of this year. After four years, the InnoTrans trade fair will take place in Berlin with 27 Czech companies taking part. Some of them will be grouped in the joint stand of the Association of Czech Railway Industry Companies (ACRI), which is being set up with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and will be located in Hall 9. The fair will take place from 20 to 23 September at the MESSE Berlin exhibition centre and is one of the largest fairs of its kind in the world. Over 150,000 visitors from 149 countries visited the fair during its last edition in 2018. The Czech rail industry employs over 20,000 people directly and about 30,000 indirectly (through subcontractors) and generates 1.5% of GDP.
“The Czech railway industry is very successful on foreign markets, where exports account for 56% of turnover. This is a proof of the competitive offer of innovative products and services, which successfully build on more than 200 years of tradition. The companies want to strengthen their international position even further. Companies are ready to expand into new markets, and the Berlin trade fair is a great opportunity to present innovative products and services, establish new contacts and export opportunities. The unique know-how that Czech companies hold can be a great asset not only for themselves but also for future customers,” says Marie Vopálenská, CEO of ACRI.
Companies will exhibit from vehicles to individual components
Czech companies will present their novelties at the stands. For example, there will be a new tram from the Škoda Group for the tri-cities of Mannheim, Ludwigshafen and Heidelberg. AŽD will present the TrafficSWing DOZ-1 remote control dispatcher workstation with the TrafficSWing GTN telematics superstructure and the ASVC advanced automatic train path construction system for the Prague Vršovice – Uhříněves railway line. The manufacturer DAKO will have exhibits of pneumatic and hydraulic braking systems for rolling stock, including mechatronic control components.
The seat designed for the premium class of all customers and carriers who want to differentiate themselves by the level of comfort offered will make its premiere at InnoTrans. The seat continues the tradition of electrically operated seats manufactured by BORCAD since 2012. BONATRANS GROUP will then present several types of its wheels for rolling stock at the fair. These include, for example, the BONA320 voltage-optimised wheel for freight wagons with the BONASILENCE®R+ shock absorber or the wheel with the BONASILENCE®P shock absorber for Prague metro trains. Research institutes and testing facilities as well as companies that supply electrical components will also be actively participating in the fair. This is just a short list of what the companies associated with ACRI have prepared for the fair, more on the acri.cz website.
