Meeting the growing demand for railway bearings, ZKL Group has started in 2022 new investments in the field of metrology and NDT for the automation and optimization of axle bearings´ production in its production plants in Brno and Klášterec nad Ohří. Investments in Brno´s plant include the acquisition of new precision CNC grinding machines and an automated inspection line. This will create a separate production unit with a capacity of approximately 20,000 bearings per year.
This year also saw the development of new types of tapered roller bearings for rail vehicles´ axles (TBU) and for a complete range of bearings for traction motors. These include QJ, NU and NJ series, together with special single row tapered roller bearings.
All the steps taken aim to the fulfilment of the company’s strategy to provide its customers with a comprehensive range of railway bearings and complete solutions for a more reliable and safer mobility of tomorrow.
