AŽD has activated and technically handed over to the Polish infrastructure manager PKP PLK the centralised traffic control of the signalling equipment on the Poznań Główny – Wronki railway section. This is the last stage of the project “Design and construction of equipment for signalling and traffic control including railway telecommunications network on the section Poznań Główny – Wronki (LCS Poznań Główny III) “in the total amount of PLN 650.7 million (approx. EUR 148 million). Three ESA 44-PL station interlocking systems (Szamotuły; Wronki, from which the Pęckowo station is controlled; Kiekrz, from which Rokietnica, Wola and Poznań stations are controlled) were connected to the LCS Poznań Główny III centralised traffic control centre.
Although PKP PLK took over the contract technically, the Poznań Główny – Wronki railway section would not be remotely controlled until 16 June 2022. The infrastructure manager had to manage training of sufficient number of specialised staff and set up a new transport staff workplace.
“After AŽD completes another contract in Poland for modernization of signalling and telecommunication equipment on the line Wronki – Słonice in the amount of 255.6 million zł (approx. 60 million EUR), the other station interlocking systems ESA 44-PL at the Drawski Młyn and Mialy railway stations, from which the Mokrz station will be controlled, will be connected to the LCS Poznań Główny III control centre,” describes other technical plans Jiří Martínek, the executive of AZD Polska.
AŽD has already won five tenders in Poland: modernization of signalling and telecommunication equipment on the Poznań – Wronki line; modernization of signalling and telecommunication equipment on the Słonice – Szczecin Dąbie line; modernization of signalling and telecommunication equipment on the Wronki – Słonice line; supply of open line signalling equipment on the Terespol-Brest railway line between Poland and Belarus; supply of signalling and telecommunication equipment on the Glincz – Kartuzy line.
